Founded in 2009 by Sonny Sandoval and Ryan Ries, The Whosoevers is a non-profit movement dedicated to reaching young people with hope, truth, and purpose.
The Whosoevers’ mission is to bring the life-changing message of the Gospel to a generation searching for meaning—empowering them to discover their true identity and purpose.
We are a movement of Whosoevers leading the way to reflect Christ in today’s culture.
What we do
Through outreach events, we share real stories and real hope offering a message of redemption and freedom through Jesus Christ. Our team of evangelists speak directly to the struggles many young people face: addiction, depression, self-harm, mental health battles, and searching for identity.
Our mission includes public school tours, speaking engagements, skateboarding and action sports, and live music events.
OUR NAME
“The Whosoevers” comes from John 3:16—“…that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
Our name is a reminder that the message of Jesus is for everyone—no matter your story, background, or belief.

MEET OUR FOUNDERS
Sonny Sandoval
Sonny Sandoval, frontman of the multi-platinum selling band P.O.D.–a group too Christian for the world and too secular for the church– has broken every mold, defied every expectation, and reached into the hearts and minds of hundreds of thousands of people who wanted to belong to something but never felt like they fit in.
Sonny’s life has been lived on the edge between two worlds, a line he has sought to walk with integrity. The City of San Diego declared June 23 as Sonny Sandoval Day to honor Sonny—the Son of Southtown—celebrating his achievements in music, philanthropy, and community globally through his work with P.O.D. and The Whosoevers Movement.
Ryan Ries
Ryan Ries, co-founder of The Whosoevers Movement, is a former C1RCA Footwear pro skateboard team manager and producer of live concerts and music festivals. Today, Ryan is doing global evangelism, an author, and host of the weekly Saturday night radio talk show and podcast, The Ryan Ries Show, featuring interviews from around the world as he travels. He continues to partner with his friends in the music and action sports industries and together they are reaching and inspiring the next generation with the Gospel.
